Cat Fabric Round-Up

It's no secret that I love cats, and I know I'm not alone. With recent lines by Aneela Hoey, Lizzy House and Alyssa Thomas, cat fabrics are easy to find. That makes me happy.
Emmmylizzy made a crazy cat lady bundle, which is full of awesome fabrics!

I am also crazy for this Kokka print.

Hmm, maybe I need to make a second cat quilt!

. Hilary just finished this Marcelle Medallion quilt, using Lizzy House's Constellations line. You can still purchase a few of the Constellations prints here!

I won't lie: I am in love with Hilary's version. Even though I made my own Marcelle Medallion, this version kills me. Perhaps, I'll make another!

If you'd like to make your own, you can find the pattern in Alexia Abegg's book, Liberty Love (and of course, Alexia is part of the Cotton+Steel dream team!).

Be sure to add projects you've made with Pink Castle Fabrics to the flickr pool!

Feature Friday - Catnap Dresses with Lizzy House fabric.

Posted by Brenda Ratliff on Mar 14, 2014 8:00:00 AM

Well, Catnap arrived, a while back, from designer Lizzy House. And then she had a dress making contest so that there might be more cat themed attire out in the world.

And some of our customers entered! Here are two of those entries!

Emily of EmmmyLizzzy made two Edelweiss dresses for her kittens (many more pictures on her blog here):

Lovely dresses made with Lizzy House Fabric.

And Jenna of jennabrand.com made Simplicity 1873 by Cynthia Rowley, Style B. A fantastic party dress! And there are more pictures and a tip for pleating a skirt here on her blog post.

You may notice that they got together for the pictures...

All the dresses! At a tea party! And a cat to boot!

Jenna's entry won second place in the contest. Which was just announced a few days ago.  Congratulations (Con-cat-ulations?), Jenna! We love all the dresses made with Lizzy House Fabric!

What have you been making with Catnap? Whatever it is, be it clothes or be it quilt or bag (or other?) we want to see it in our Made by Pink Castle Flickr pool!

Lizzy House Fabric: Catnap and Project Round-Up

Catnap has arrived! And we are taking the moment to feature items made with other lines of Lizzy House fabric! This post is going to be all about clothing!

The last post (a while ago now) showed some quilts, pillows, and other home goods, and you can read it here.

Lizzy House Catnap

First we swoon over Catnap!

Now let's see some super amazing apparel patterns using older lines from Lizzy House:

Kristin from Skirt as Top made this adorable Star Star Dress from a print from Lizzy House's last collection, Constellation. The pattern is the Georgia Vintage Dress from The Cottage Mama. I love all the little details!

Stefanie from Very, Very Fine made this wonderful baby dress in Castle Peeps fabric. The pattern is the Pretty Party Dress from Prudent Baby.

Emily from EmmmyLizzzy made this Geranium dress (pattern from Made by Rae) from the Butterflies print from Hello Pilgrim. Catnap includes a selection of  updated butterflies prints!

And speaking of Geraniums, Rae of Made by Rae made a super adorable Geranium tunic in this bright print from Lizzy House's Outfoxed line.

Rae also used several Pearl Bracelets to make this adorable Colorblock baby dress.

But what I really wanted to show you from raiding Rae's archives, is that Lizzy House makes adorable prints that can be used in clothes for both girls and for boys. And of course women - it goes without saying, though I will still link to some pictures: (Rae's butterfly washi dress! Rae's dress in Hello Pilgrim leaves!)

Constellation was a great line for everyone (see the star dress above!) and Rae used the teal moon dots to make these shorts from her Parsley Pants pattern.

She used this Medal print from Lizzy House's Red Letter Day line to make both a bucket hat (pattern by Oliver+S, from the book Little Things to Sew)....

... and a pair of board shorts (the pattern is Board Shorts by  Patterns by Figgy’s) for her son.

And there are several prints in Catnap that I think will look great on anyone! Unless they're afraid of mice, that is.

And now, what shall we make with Catnap? I know I'm planning a skirt for myself. Whatever you make, be sure to share it with us in our Made With Pink Castle Fabrics Flickr group!

Lizzy House Fabric: Catnap and More

As we await the imminent arrival of Catnap, we are taking a moment to feature items made with other lines of Lizzy House fabric! This post is going to highlight a few quilts, pillows, and other home goods. I am saving the apparel for a second post.

First, if you haven't taken a moment to look at Catnap, please do! (Although Catnap is not yet available, if you sign up for an email notification on the left side of the screen when viewing any print, you will be emailed the moment it is in stock at Pink Castle Fabrics.)

Lizzy House Catnap Fabric

Lizzy House is a fabric designer known for her whimsical drawings and her clever color stories. Catnap features mice and cats, yes, but there is also a re-imagining of her classic butterfly print from her Hello Pilgrim line, as well as coordinating stash builders like Pearl Bracelets and Jewels.

Now let's look at a few quilts and things:

Laurie of Dresden Lane made this spectacular rainbow quilt with prints from Lizzy House's Red Letter Day, Castle Peeps, 1001 Peeps, and Hello Pilgrim collections. There is also at least one print from Lizzy Dish and one from Outfoxed.

Brooke of Pitter Putter Stitch used Freshly Pieced's Supernova pattern to make this 1001 Peeps top as a bee project. I love those towers as a border!

And speaking of Freshly Pieced, Lee made her luscious Bloom Bloom Pow quilt with Pearl Bracelets. The construction of this quilt is as clever as the results are gorgeous.

Shelley of Elsie's Girl made these adorable placemats using a pattern by Elizabeth Hartman with my favorite Lizzy House line, Lizzy Dish.

EliseH32 made this pillow using a pattern from the book Pillow Pop, featuring Castle Peeps. I think the clean design really shows off those adorable prints!

And Tina of BostonSewer made this amazing hexagon Pearl Bracelets quilt, using all the Pearl Bracelets ever made! (Although there are more coming!) I love how she organized the colors!

And now, what shall we make with Catnap? I know I have some plans for it! Whatever you make, be sure to share it with us in our Made With Pink Castle Fabrics Flickr group!
