Janome HD3000 = Heavy Duty Home Machine Under $500!

Buy a Janome HD3000

I get a lot of customers asking me for a recommendation for an inexpensive sewing machine that can sew through heavy duty material. The Janome HD3000 heavy duty sewing machine is hands down the best answer. This heavy duty sewing machine is easy to use  and perfect for beginners or someone who doesn’t need a lot of fancy stitches and accessories.  Here are some reasons why the HD3000 is the best heavy duty sewing machine on the market:

Listen.  You are not going to find a good sewing machine at a big box store. Those $100 machines are made with mostly plastic or thin metal parts. They are cheaper but they are going to break. They are meant to be a throw away sewing machine or  for someone who really doesn’t use a sewing machine. As soon as you need to sew through leather, denim or some thick home decor material, that thing is going to break.

As of this posting, the HD3000 sells for $429! This falls under the “budget” category in the line up of all sewing machines.  It’s definately not the same machine as those that sell for $7000. There’s no WiFi, embroidery, there aren’t 1000 stitches…you get the idea.  You ARE getting a good all around sewing machine.  A machine that works for quilters, garment sewing, and home decor.

Easy to Use

See the front of this machine? There aren’t a lot of doo dads and buttons. You don’t need to spend hours and hours learning all the features of this machine.  It just works. Even though it is easy, the HD3000 still has a good variety of  18 utility stitches.

Sews through thick material

Need to hem your jeans? This machine can do that. Looking to make a cosplay outfit for Comic-Con? You can do that too! You have an extra high presser foot lift to make sure you can get all those layers underneath your foot too. You won’t have to do any tension adjustments on the HD3000 when you sew from thick to thin either.

What comes in the Box?

  • Zigzag Foot
  • Blind Hem Foot
  • Hemmer Foot
  • Overedge Foot
  • Zipper Foot
  • Transparent Buttonhole Foot
  • Automatic Buttonhole Foot
  • Needle Set
  • Quilter Bar

You have enough accessories to do most sewing projects right out of the box.  If you are a quilter I do suggest adding on a 1/4″ foot for piecing and an Even Feed walking foot for quilting.

Here is a complete list of compatible accessories!

Need more machine?

Let’s say you aren’t a beginner and want to have more features but you still want a heavy duty machine.  The Janome 6300 is an awesome upsell! It has a lot more stitches and accessories, bigger throat space and a thread cutter (which I can’t live without!) Currently, it’s priced at $1169 (still reasonable!).
